“I know,” Lynn rubbed her hands up and down Alexis’s shoulders in attempts to relieve the tension. “I promise I will take good care of her. Thank you for trusting your daughter with me. Alexis, I know it may seem like I have everything, but I don’t. I’m not sure I’ve ever had anyone that truly trusted me before and to know you trust me with the most precious gift in your life means so much.” Lynn smiled as she embraced Alexis.
“You’re welcome. Just take care of her for me,” Alexis whispered. She closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of Lynn’s strong arms wrapped around her for as long as she could. Finally, she pulled away and looked up. Lynn was at least six inches taller than Alexis and the smaller woman almost felt dwarfed by her powering presence in more ways than one. “And if you go out on the beach, please, don’t let her out of your sight.”
