“Can we have whipped cream and pancakes for breakfast,” Calista asked with wide eyes.


“Yummy! What do you say, mom?” Lynn grinned as she reached out and grasped Alexis’s hand. “Can we?”


Alexis laughed as she picked up the menu and looked it over. “Do they even have that here?”


“Morning,” Katie said with a smile as she and Aimee walked into the room holding hands.


“Morning,” Lynn said with a tilt of her head. “Either I have more of a concussion than I thought, or you weren’t here last night.”


“No, I wasn’t here. And I don’t believe we have met.” Aimee stepped over to the sofa and held her hand out to Lynn. “Aimee Capshaw, I came over to check on Katie last night.”


“Aimee has been taking over the station for me these past few days. She’s amazing.” Katie smiled, meeting Aimee’s emerald eyes with a sigh. The two had spent the rest of the night talking, laughing, and watching old movies on TV.
