Being gay had been illegal when he’d gone in, straight after school. Hell, he hadn’t really even knownhe was gay, just that he wasn’t much interested in girls. As time had gone on though, he’d worked it out—a few fumbles here and there to start with, a cautious not-quite-relationship in his late twenties for a few years. And lately, Steve.
