Chapter 15

On the way back to the subway stop, Noah said, “It’s hard to believe that museum exists simply because one woman decided it ought to.”

“By all accounts, she was an extraordinary woman, and very eccentric. Under the terms of her will, the exhibits in the museum can never be changed in any way.”

“We should be just about on time,” Tom said. “William said they have drinks with their fathers every Friday afternoon around five.”

They had only a short wait until the next inbound Green Line train arrived. They took it to the Arlington Station, went up to street level, and walked from there to the hotel. The Lanes were at a table in the bar, just as their hosts had said they would be. The four men rose as they approached and William made the introductions.

“Have a seat, guys,” William said. “We’ve got a couple of extra chairs waiting for you.”
