Chapter 35

“I’m right behind you.”

In their bedroom, they stripped and settled down on the bed. “There’s nothing like your very own bed,” he said.

“Yeah, provided it has your very own man in it.”

“Shut up, roll over, and kiss me.”

They kissed for a while, and one thing led to another. Later, they decided to take a nice long shower together. While Noah was redressing his incisions, Tom went downstairs to warm up the lunch that Chad had left for them. He carried a tray upstairs to the porch and set it on the table.

“I’m going to take a nap now,” Noah said after he finished his lunch. “Wake me up in time to get ready for choir practice.”

“Babe, are you sure you want to climb all those steps? I’d feel a lot better if you waited until Sunday to start back.”

“Yeah, I guess you’re right. Don’t wake me up, then. What are you going to be doing?”

“Bringing our luggage upstairs, catching up on the mail that’s surely waiting for us, etcetera.”

“Handle it, handle it.”
