“That I do, but the constant challenge of adding new pieces motivates me to work harder. I can’t afford to get complacent.”

“That makes sense,” Mr. Walker said.

“We’re going to spend a couple of weeks in the mountains in August,” Noah said. “Our friends George and Mike keep insisting that we make use of their cabin, so we took them up on it and set a date.”

“You should,” Mrs. Walker said. “You need to take some time off before school begins.”

“Yeah, it’s hard to believe that I’m actually going to be in graduate school.”

They spent the afternoon in Gainesville, returning to Jacksonville well before dark. Bobby and Chad were sitting at the kitchen island, eating, when they walked in the door. “You guys are just in time for a light supper,” Bobby said.

“It’ll have to be very light,” Noah said. “You know what kind of a spread Grandma puts out on Sunday afternoon.”

“Give us a minute to wash up,” Tom said, “and Noah and I’ll be glad to join you.”
