Mr. Cooper told them what the property was worth, and what the client wanted for it.
“Is there a tenant in place right now?” Noah said.
“The lease just expired and the tenant moved out.”
“What about taxes, insurance, and such—do you have any information?”
“I just happen to have all of the above,” Mr. Cooper said. He passed a folder across the desk. They looked at the documents, which included a picture. The house appeared to be a small brick bungalow of the type that was ubiquitous in the Murray Hill area, which was just across Roosevelt Boulevard and the CSX Railway main line from Avondale.
“This looks good,” Tom said. “When can we see it?”
“Let me make a quick call.”
They waited while Mr. Cooper made the call. When he hung up the phone, he said, “He’s really eager, as you might have guessed from my end of the conversation. He’ll meet you at the house in thirty minutes.”
“Wow, he is eager,” Tom said. “What do you think, babe?”
