“Yeah, thanks, Agnes,” Tom said.

TOM WALKED TO the door with Agnes and said quietly as he opened it, “Thank you, Agnes. You seem to have had a calming influence on our boy.”
She nodded and walked down the corridor. The minute he closed the door, there was a knock, and when he opened it he came face to face with a tall and rather muscular guy. “You must be Ricardo,” he said.
“That’s me. Someone need a massage?”
“You bet. I’m Tom, and my friend Noah is the one in need of your services.”
He opened the door wide enough for Ricardo to carry his portable massage table into the room, then closed the door behind them. Noah was sitting at the desk studying his laptop screen, so he said, “Noah, this gentleman is looking for you.”
“Give me a minute to set up my table,” Ricardo said, “and we’ll get going.”
“Good, because my friend has to appear on stage at Lincoln Center tonight, and he’s a bundle of nerves.”
“You must be one of the Met finalists,” Ricardo said.
