Chapter 57

“I suppose we are,” Mason said. “The beach was nice, and the weather was perfect.”

“The full moon was especially nice,” Angela said.

Mason, who was sitting beside Angela, gave me a wink, and I smiled in acknowledgment. We finished our lunch, and Angela said, “We hate to eat and run, but….”

“We have to go and meet the bus that’s bringing the boys back from camp,” Mason said as he handed me the keys to the beach house.

“I meant what I said about using the house anytime. Just call my secretary and have her pencil you in on the calendar.”

“We just might do that,” Mason said.

Roger walked his folks to their car while I waited on the veranda. When he came back to where I was standing, he said, “I’ve never seen my folks with such dopey expressions on their faces.”

“Trust me, Roger, a couple of nights of romance in the moonlight does wonders for a relationship.”

“What do you mean?” He thought about it for a moment, the lightbulb came on, and he actually blushed and said, “Oh.”
