“And that would be the dictionary definition of fag hag,” Mike said.

“If you say so,” she said.

Lance grabbed her by the arm and said, “I see Bruce and Tom over there; we need to go talk to them about the production.”

“Bye,” Deb said.

“Bye, Debbie,” Mike said.

“Don’t call me Debbie,” she said, and she gave him the finger as she walked away.

“Don’t mind Mike and Deb,” I said. “They’ve been going at it like brother and sister for years.”

“Why is she dressed like that?” Crystal said.

“Because she gets sucked into performing in Lance’s dreadful theatrical productions,” I said, “and she likes to ‘live’ the part, so to speak.”

“Yeah,” Mike said. “A few months ago she came in here wearing the shortest shorts so short her butt cheeks were hanging, complete with a very brief halter top. She was getting ready to do a musical version of the Dukes of Hazzard.”

“The mind boggles at the thought,” I said.
