“No kidding!” Mickey said. “Sorry about the sarcasm, guys, but I’m way out of my depth here, and it’s kind of frustrating.”
“Don’t worry about it,” Mike said. “You’re under considerable stress right now and it has to leak out. In fact, it would probably be better for you if more of it did.”
“Can he have visitors?” George said.
“Not until he’s out of Intensive Care. That’s supposed to be today or tomorrow. I’m hoping that I’ll find him in a room when I get there with his Camel Rider, but who knows?”
“You will let some of us know when that happens, won’t you?” Mike said.
“Count on it.”
One of the restaurant employees brought Mickey his to go order, so he said good-bye to George and Mike and returned to Mabel. When he arrived at the hospital, he learned that Chris had been moved to a private room. When he walked into the room, he saw that Chris wasn’t feeling too well.
Mickey kissed Chris and said, “What’s the matter?”
