Chapter 50

“Babe,” Tom said, “this weekend is about two brothers getting better acquainted as adults. Go show him the town, or the beach, or the campus, or whatever comes to mind. If you want to meet me at The Loop or the Pizza Italian for lunch, call me when you’re fifteen minutes out.”

“Okay,” Noah said, “that’s what we’ll do.”

Tom pulled car keys out of his pocket and said, “Want to do it in style?”

“You want us to take the Beemer?”

“Babe,” Tom said patiently, “a Beemer is a BMW motorcycle. The BMW automobile is known as a Bimmer.”

“I stand corrected. You want us to take the Bimmer?”

“Why not? If you don’t, it will just sit in the church parking lot most of the day feeling neglected.”

“Okay,” Noah said. “Thanks.”

NOAH DROVE THE BMW carefully around town, showing Bobby the more interesting sights, concluding with a tour of the UNF campus. He parked in one of the parking lots near the admin building, and they sat in the car talking.
