“Yeah,” Noah said with a sigh that morphed into a yawn.

NOAH’S YAWN PROMPTED an epidemic of similar activity, so Tom suggested they all retire. Bobby gave both of them a good night hug, thanked them for a wonderful day, and went to the guest room.

They were so relaxed that they drifted off to sleep almost immediately.

Sunday morning they were once again sitting at the breakfast table when Bobby wandered into the kitchen. Tom got up and set Bobby’s breakfast on the table without comment, and the three of them ate in silence. When they were finished, Tom and Noah got up to clear the table, and Bobby helped them.

“Looks like you’ve got it under control today, Bobby.”

“Yeah,” Bobby said, “I sort of took care of things earlier.”

“That’s cool,” Tom said. “So did we. You can go back to bed if you like, but Noah and I have to be at the church by nine.”

“I’d like to come with you guys, if it’s okay.”

“It’s more than okay,” Tom said. “We’re glad to have you, aren’t we, babe?”
