Chapter 98

“Not on your life,” Noah said. “We may need reinforcements.”

“We need to carry a couple of chairs from the dining room to the living room,” Tom said, “so we can accommodate three more people.”

“We also need to clean up the kitchen and the dining room,” George said.

By the time Bobby came back with their latest visitors in tow, both the dining room and the kitchen had been restored to order. Bobby brought his family in through the backdoor and led them into the living room.

“We didn’t know you had company,” Mrs. Walker said.

“Our friends brought dinner over a little while ago, Grandma,” Noah said, “and we asked them to stay and visit a while.”

He introduced everyone to the four men. Mrs. Walker, of course, had to know what each of them did for a living.

“Sit down, won’t you?” Tom said. “Can we offer you a glass of wine or soda?”

“Wine would be nice,” Mr. Walker said, “but my daughter is the designated driver, so she can have a Coke.”
