Chapter 21

After a bit, Mr. Majors pulled away from the embrace, and David began pulling on his clothing. By the time he was stepping into his shoes, Mr. Majors had somewhat regained his composure, and found his voice in the process.

“David, you said there were two reasons. What’s the other one?”

“Dad,” David said, “I hope you were sincere in what you said earlier about your gay subordinates, because your youngest son is gay.”

“No shit? Since when?”

“Remember Kenny Williams, who was my best friend all through school from junior high on?”

“Sure.”

“We were a lot more than best friends. We were boyfriends during all that time.”

“You mean to say that every time he slept over, you and he were….”

“From the day we figured out how good it felt.”

“That’s a lot to take in—w… wait a minute, does this mean that you and Kevin…?”
