“Yes?”
“I have well over a hundred hours of accumulated vacation time, some of which I’m in danger of losing.”
“I know that.”
“I’d like to take a week or ten days starting next week.”
“Have you made plans?”
“Not exactly, but I’m thinking of taking Mike up to Maggie Valley while he recovers. I think we both need to get away for a while.”
“Great minds run in the same path.”
“I’ve heard that, but to what path are you referring?”
He handed me a document and said, “This one.”
I looked at the piece of paper. It was an approved leave application for two weeks off, commencing Monday. It lacked only my signature.
“Wow, this is great.” I signed the document and handed it back to him.
