“How did he take the news?” I said.

“He understood the need, once I’d told him everything. He also told me that the front pew in the church will be reserved for family, and Father Rinaldo will meet us at a side entrance and show us to our seats. We should probably arrange to leave at the same time as Grandmother.”

“I’ve already set that up with her driver,” Giuseppe said.

“Good. I’ve looked at your security proposal, and I like it. However, it was drafted before I made the decision to consider allowing tours of the castle, and it needs to be revised with that in mind.”

“I worked on that before I went to sleep last night. Give me a minute.”

Giuseppe went to his room, retrieved a laptop, and took it into the den, where he produced a cat-5 cable and plugged it into an outlet on the cable modem. In what seemed like no time, the laser printer came to life and printed pages began to appear.

“How did you set that up so quickly?” I said.
