“Yeah, it certainly would. But the question remains: what, if anything, should we do about it? Would anyone else have known?”


“That brings me to a question I’d forgotten to ask. I need to meet with the family lawyer. I’ve got an attorney coming up from Rome tomorrow; there’s much to be done that only the lawyers can handle.”


“I’ll give you his name and telephone number. He’s probably waiting for some time to pass before contacting you.”


“Yeah, but I don’t have all the time in the world. There are things that need to be settled before I go home.”


“YOU CERTAINLY SEEM to have won the hearts of the merchants in town,” Luciano said to Marco.


“Yeah,” Marco said. “I told the owner of the hotel that he could spread the word about the possibility of opening the castle, and he must have gone straight to the telephone as soon as we left.”
