Chapter 9

“Yeah, I see it now,” Nate said. “Where does that path lead?”

“Into the woods, but there’s no way to tell where it comes out on the other side of them.”

“How about those buildings on that back road?”

“You mean the road on the opposite side of the property?” Quentin said.

“Yeah.”

“Shit! I never even thought of that. Grab the camera and I’ll take a pad and pen. We’re going out into the boonies again.”

“Sounds like fun.”

They started for the door, but Quentin said, “My map’s in my car.”

“So, I’ll drive us around to the garage, and you can get it.”

Some time, and no small amount of aggravation later, they were on what Quentin was certain was the road that ran behind the property they’d been looking at.

“There are a lot more mailboxes on this road,” Nate said.
