Chapter 25

“Let’s go, Nate, and bring that tablet with you,” Quentin said, and opened the passenger door. He killed the lights, and stepped out of the car. Nate followed him to the driver’s side of the police car, and in the moonlight they saw two men get out of the car. One on the driver’s side, and one on the passenger’s side.

“Okay, Q. We’re here,” George said.

“Is that Carl with you?” Quentin said.

“Yes. Now, how about telling us what’s going on?”

Quentin and Nate brought the two policemen up-to-date on their adventures tailing Harv and Marv.

“Holy shit, Q,” Carl said. “You sure got lucky, didn’t you?”

“Maybe,” Quentin said, “but while we’ve been running around in the boondocks chasing these guys, we aren’t earning any money.”

“That’s true,” George said, “but if what you say turns out to be true, you’ll have saved a bunch of lives.”

“Where are they now, Nate?” Quentin said.

“They just turned onto this road.”
