He threw out a number.
“Holy shit,” I said. “That much?”
“Good neighborhood, great house, piece of cake.”
“Well, guys,” Sam said, “the food and wine are gone, and I know you have other things on your minds, so I’ll be on my way.”
“I need to move my car to the garage,” I said, “so I’ll walk you to yours.”
“Great,” Sam said. “Good to meet you, Rion.”
“You too,” Rion said.
Before he could get into his car, I gave Sam a hug. “Thanks for everything,” I said.
“You’re welcome. Don’t let this guy get away—I think he’s a keeper.”
“Yeah. See you Thursday morning.”
“As always. Bye.”
He drove off, and I pulled my car into the garage. Rion was waiting for me inside the house, already naked.
“In a hurry, are we?”
“Yeah. Let’s go.”
We ran up the stairs, and I began pulling off my clothes the minute we got to the master bedroom. When we were sated, at least for the moment, Rion said, “Go look on the dresser.”
