Chapter 55

“Hello,” he said in a sort of a croak.

“Mitch, here,” I said. “Feeling better?”

“Dunno. I’m not puking anymore, but I still can’t stay off the throne for more than five minutes at a time. What’s up?”

“Is it okay if we take Robbie to the beach with us?”

“Sure, but he doesn’t have his swimsuit.”

“Not a problem. Jamie has an extra pair of shorts.”

“Have fun. Just remember, he loves to dash into the surf, sometimes without warning.”

“We’ll keep both of them on a short leash. Does Robbie burn easily?”

“He did at first, but not now. Just use a little sunscreen. Gotta go, nature calls again.”

“Okay, ‘bye.”

Twenty minutes later, we loaded towels, sunscreen, and two excited little boys into the BMW and were on our way.

“Why did you decide to take this car?” Rion said.

“Because it’s older—no need to get all that salt and sand in the new car.”

“Makes sense.”
