Just when I thought that going to a new school could be a fresh start for me, I realise I couldn’t have been more wrong. I snatched the back of my t-shirt out of Zoe’s hands and whipped around on her, anger flaring so deep within me that I felt the familiar tingling sensation in my chest.


“I cannot believe you just did that!” I snarled at her, all my attention utterly focused on her. “You promised me!”


“I think we’ve all learned today that we shouldn’t make promises we can’t keep.” Zoe shrugged.


Infuriated, I took a step towards her, almost entirely sure that I was going to hit her.


Keeya was suddenly there in front of me, gripping hold of my arms and bolting them to my sides. She was definitely stronger than she looked. Especially because I felt like I could lift a truck with how angry I was right now.


“Don’t you get it? This is amazing!” Luci said, her voice filled with glee. “Bri! The Goddess has chosen you to show Celestria who’s boss!”


She jumped up and down, then kicking and punching at the air as though showing me just how I’d go about ‘showing Celestria who’s boss’.
