She gave me a look that said ‘don’t you go forgetting about your date either’ before she began to wander back around to the gazebo.

“Mathew?” Pete asked, a half intrigued look on his face.

“He’s just a friend,” I replied all too quickly, and Pete’s expression became way more curious. That look told me he seriously didn’t believe me, and the truth was I was beginning to question it myself.

“So you still haven’t told me what you’re doing here,” Pete said, changing the subject although I wasn’t sure which was worse: talking about my being out with a guy or the fact I was back in London and hadn’t even thought to call him.

Maybe if he knew everything that had happened, he might understand, but what could I say? Oh yeah, I moved to a witch school and found out I was the biggest freak there. I also found out that our Grand Priestess (head mistress) is an evil B-witch who has been killing students and she killed me but as you can see I’m not dead anymore, but I am on the run.
