Chapter 41

“Archer, get them out of here!” Mathew snarled at the hunter, but instead of doing as he’d asked, Archer stepped around the counter, holding his blade in front of him.

“No way, I’m not letting this piece of crap get away from me again!” Archer snapped back at him, and in the next moment, he was charging at the man.

I watched, horrified, as Archer’s blade sliced down the man’s back. The silver blade left a sizzling wound from his right shoulder blade to his left hip, but he barely seemed to flinch as he gripped Mathew’s throat.

“You’re coming with me!” The man’s voice was more animal than human as he bared his teeth at Mathew, and I saw the glint of large, yellow stained fangs.

The man began to tremble, and the all too familiar sound of bones cracking hit my ears.
