Chapter 39

For just a second, we stopped to look, amazed at the sheer violence of the attack. Sharks were ambush predators. It was how they attacked, and we should not have been surprised. That second cost us, because suddenly they were all over us. I flew into the air and dove straight down. There was still time to save the Worthington man. I moved so that I was coming in at an angle and I snout slammed the other shark hard enough to knock him off of the Worthington man and send him flying.

If shark eyes could kill, I would have died instantly. The shark I hit looked pissed and in a world of pain. The Worthington man acknowledged me with as good of a nod as a shark could give before he tore into the shark I had just moved off of him. I went straight back to the battle and looked around. I knew my role. I could knock off my friends’ attackers with a bit of an attack myself.
