Alex walks down the road of his life, apparently without any detours. He has a job, friends, a nice apartment and a girlfriend who meets his needs. “Actually you are way more than not that bad.” Daniel’s words were a whisper, but Alex turned his face and looked at him for a second before smiling softly.


“Thanks,” he replied then. “I guess…you, too.”


“You guess?” Daniel was smiling sincerely.


Daniel wasn’t sure what those words meant. They were teasing each other but that sentence seemed different. Then, in a second, he realized Alex had called himDanny, and that was enough to leave him speechless and breathless. But he wouldn’t point that out. He didn’t want Alex to regret what he had just said.


“So,” Alex started again, obviously not noticing Daniel’s embarrassment. “How did you become a teacher? I mean, why?”


Daniel took a deep breath before speaking. “I think I’ve always wanted to be useful. I like children and I’m able to relate to them.”
