Chapter 13

He was strangely excited. He wasn’t sure if it was for Daniel or for the challenge but, considering he had never loved running, maybe Daniel had something to do with his excitement.

He put his sweatpants on and a shirt, his sneakers, and walked into the living room where he found Daniel waiting for him on the couch.

“Seriously?” It was the first word that came out of Alex’s mouth.

Daniel smiled and shrugged. “Seriously,” he answered, rising from the couch. “I told you it might be a problem for you waking up this early.”

“It’s not,” Alex replied stubbornly.

“As you want, but your eyes are rimmed red, poor things.”

“Are you always this funny in the morning? Because this could be the first and the last time I agree to meet you before a decent hour.”

Daniel chuckled and walked toward the door. He stopped just before reaching it and turned to face Alex.

“I have a question. Just out of curiosity.”

“Shoot.”
