“Matt,” he said as if it was a greeting, and when the guy turned, Alex saw the moment when Matt recognized him and his icy stare.


Daniel frowned for a moment but he didn’t say anything.


“Hello, Alex. I was walking outside and I saw Daniel. I thought I’d come in and greet him. I didn’t know you worked here.”


Daniel?How did he know Matt? Precisely, the last time he had seen Matt it was at the party, the night Daniel had arrived. This meant that, since then, they must have met each other again. And Daniel hadn’t mentioned it.


“Oh, I see you two know each other,” he began with a flat tone, shooting a look at his friend.


Daniel blushed under his gaze and cleared his throat.


“Yes, we met ten days ago, more or less. I was coming home from school and Matt recognized me.”


What a coincidence. I bet he recognized you.
