Chapter 32

Daniel sat on the bed, ran his hands over his face and then he smoothed his hair.

“Happiness is something you feel, Alex. It’s not something you decide to feel when you’re ready,” Daniel sighed, shaking his head, getting up. He approached Alex and looked down at him, staring into his eyes.

“I need to take a shower.”

Alex moved and stepped aside, struck by Daniel’s words and uncertain about letting him go or not. Daniel seemed to read his mind.

“I can’t stay here forever, Alex. And do you think no one will come over here? Do you think in five seconds Gabriel won’t be here in your bedroom?”

Alex bowed his head and Daniel lifted it again, putting two fingers under his chin. “Are you sorry for what happened last night?”

Alex didn’t answer. He shook his head slightly, but then he added, “No, but I don’t know if I’m ready…”
