Before entering his room, he went digging through the presents he received and found Daniel’s bracelet. He held it for a while, playing with it with his fingers before deciding to put it on his wrist with a little private smile. Then, he brought the other packages in his bedroom and he sat on the bed with a sigh.
He was still trying to focus on what to do and when and how, when he heard a knock at the door and he immediately ran toward it, thinking it was Daniel.
“D—”
Kevin watched him from the doorway, little surprised, a little irritated, and a little compassionate all at the same time.
“He left,” he said simply to Alex, giving him the last gifts he had forgotten in the living room.
“Oh. And why?”
“I don’t know, but it was clear he didn’t want to stay here. And he’s not obliged to clean up our mess. He has already helped enough.”
“No, no. I didn’t mean that. It’s just…I was wondering…do you know where he was going?”
