But then Matt came back. Daniel could see he was sad. His eyes were red and he felt even sicker.


“I’m so sorry.” Daniel looked away and was going to rise from the couch, but Matt’s hand pushed him gently.


Daniel looked up and Matt nodded. Yes, he was sad but he didn’t seem angry.


“What?” Daniel was surprised by his response.


“Daniel, I can’t say I didn’t expect something like this sooner or later, although it doesn’t hurt any less. You talk about Alex 24/7. Always. I wasn’t sure it was love, but it was obvious you felt something for him. I’m sorry, I can’t say I’m not. I am, because I like you and it hurts like hell. I guess I’m even falling for you, hard, but I can’t do anything if you love another man, and I appreciate the fact that you have been honest with me.”
