“I-I don’t think it’s a good idea. You know…space,” Alex answered, clearing his throat.

Daniel frowned and nodded. “Okay, if you prefer so. I know what I said, but this is a big night for the guys and I thought it would be nice for them to see us together. But it’s okay, you’re right. Sorry.”

Why the hell did things always turn against Alex in one way or another?

“No. You’re right. Okay, I’ll come with you. Are you sure it’s okay with Matt, too?” Alex hastened to add

“Matt is a good guy,” was the only response Daniel gave to Alex before heading toward the table.

“Of course. Matt is perfect,” Alex hissed, following him.

Once Alex was seated at the table, he risked a glance at Matt, watching him with caution. Maybe Matt feared Alex would inevitably say something rude, or maybe he just preferred to remain alone with Daniel. Alex couldn’t blame him for that.

“Hello,” Alex finally said, raising his drink, and noticed Daniel looking at his wrist. Did he see the bracelet?
