“Nope. I told George and Tom we ate so much we need to walk it off.”
“Well we did, so that’s the truth.”
Rudy nodded. “Pretty much.”
Terry eyed him, knowing just from his expression that Rudy had more in mind than just hiking. If it’s what I think…his libido jumped into high gear and he prayed that no one would start worrying and come looking for them.
The forest got denser the further they were from the house. Enough so that Terry wondered if they’d be able to find their way back. He chuckled. Not that we’re actually off in the wilderness.
“What’s so amusing?” Rudy asked.
“I was wondering if we should have brought bread crumbs.”
“What? Oh.” Rudy laughed. “No. I know where we’re going. Well sort of.”
“Sort of? I’m not sure that fills me with confidence.”
“Trust me, we won’t get lost.” Rudy kept walking, putting his arm around Terry’s waist. A few moments later he said, “Ah ha. I knew there had to be one somewhere.”
