“Move back,” Frank said as he raised his knife, “or I’ll cut his throat.” He walked on while more nurses came, and pushed Lucian before him. Lucian limped forward as the nurses moved away, looking around themselves in worry.
“What’s going on here…? Lucian!”
“Nate!” Lucian’s head whirled around. “This is Frank Salvatore. He’s the one who—”
“Silence!” Frank snapped and hit the back of Lucian’s head with the hilt of his knife.
“No!” Nate shouted.
Lucian felt faint but he fought to keep on his feet. Frank shook him hard. “I thought you said they knew.”
“They do. It’s just that—”
“What do you think we know, Frank?” Nate shouted. “That you killed my aunt and her baby? Oh, we did know—even before Lucian did, I guess. He’s an innocent in this case yet because my aunt wanted to take revenge on your family, Lucian bore the brunt of it. When did you plant her body in the wall anyway, Frank? When they added the recording room at the station?”
