Chapter 50

“Looks like there’s at least one security guard on duty even after closing,” Duff commented, stating the obvious since we saw the man leave the room at the far end of the hallway.

“Two,” Rob said, rejoining us seconds later. “And they monitor the cameras.”

“Then my rotating them would be obvious,” Ephram said.

I shook my head. “I can control the guards so they don’t notice the shift. The problem is, does the information go to a central monitoring station as well.”

“Be right back,” Rob said as he vanished again. He returned two minutes later. “They can alert their company if there’s trouble, but the system itself is all in-house.”

“One less problem then,” I replied. “I just have to get to the men separately to deal with them.”

“Question,” Ephram said hesitantly. “If you can do that, can’t you have them turn the system off? Then we can get the painting without having to go through all the normal hoops.”
