“Yes,” Liddy replied. “Down a hallway between the offices and what could be a storage area. The room I think is the command center is at the front end of the hallway. The back door has an alarmed panic bar. Not—” she grinned, “—that it poses any problem for us since we don’t use doors and windows.”

Ephram shook his head in disgust. “I forgot about that. I’m still thinking in terms of the heist movies I’ve seen.”

“Yeah well, forget those when it comes to us. If it weren’t for the damned motion detectors and vibration sensors you and Philip could do the whole thing without needing us. Cameras can’t record what they can’t see.”

“Somehow,” I said, chuckling, “I doubt the sensors were created to stop us per se.”

“Gee, really?” Duff shot me a wry look.

I flipped him off before suggesting we figure out when we wanted to leave.

“Are we flying?” Ephram asked with a worried frown.

“Define ‘flying’.” I turned to Duff. “Did you happen to find a decent motel while you two were out there?”
