Chapter 64

He lay on the ground, Felix’s sneaker pushing painfully into his ribs. The ball was clutched under him, sweaty in his hands as though crying about the dunk that would never happen. The whole gym had descended into silence for a long moment as everyone came to a standstill, but then he heard a few mutterings and surprised gasps as he descended on Felix who looked even more petrified than usual. He didn’t even get to land a single punch when a strong hand on his arm pulled him off the nerd impatiently.

“Walk it off.” Coach, or Henry’s voice was calm, but his signature stare pierced right through him. The warning in his voice was obvious for everyone to hear, and the rest of the players gathered around them, some bending down to help Felix up.
