He seized the currents of power with his mind, and fed his awareness into it, rushing to the edges of the boundary. He guessed it correctly. Already it was starting to wear to an unacceptable thinness in places. He dropped his awareness further out to soak into the ground, seeking.

A bright flare of energy caught his attention. A ley line, that bisected the area no more than a hundred yards from where they stood, would work perfectly. With a firm touch, Castiel forced the line into a curve, and brought it under his Spear tip. The surge of raw power nearly knocked him back.

With a last push, he moved the barrier out, past the fence line.

Gasping, he wrenched his mind back to himself. His hands trembled from the exertion. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and took an unsteady step away.

Jason laid steadying hands on his shoulders. “Did you do it?”
