Chapter 13

“Um,” Tab said.

“So?” Nick prodded, those sharp green eyes flicking down to the paper again. “What is it?”

“Um, a doodle, nothing,” Tab said, shoving it under the keyboard. “Um, there’s no classes, er…”

“I’m just here for the bag room,” Nick said.

Tab blinked.

“The sign-in sheet?” Nick prompted.

Tab went from a fetching cherry-red to a shade of purple that wouldn’t have looked out of place in a flowerbed, and dived under the counter to get the sign-in sheet. He heard a muffled snicker, and pressed his forehead against the filing cabinet to cool the burning for a second. How could a fucking Monday go so wrong, seriously?! And how did it happen in front of Nick, of all people?!

Because it’s Nick, of all people, the God of Honest Truths told him serenely. Tab hated it intensely for a satisfying five seconds.

And then he bobbed back up, and his drawing was in Nick’s hand.

Tab swallowed. “Um…”
