Chapter 11

Melissa, Sally, and I tried to be very careful. We found the boat and it was still floating. That is until I tried to board it to see if it was still as good as it looked. I’d just gotten into the boat and was in the process of standing up, when my feet broke through the floorboards and the boat started to sink. I was up to my tits in cold water, which was quite a shock after the heat of the day. All I heard was Sally’s and Melissa’s raucous laughter.

“I don’t think that boat is any good,” Melissa said between chortles.

“Ya think?” Then I couldn’t help myself. I broke out in laughter, too, as soon as I could scramble up on the shore. Soon, all three of us were rolling on the ground in hysterics.

“So much for fishing, today,” Melissa said when she was able to speak.

I unhooked the straps on my sandals.

“Looks like I’m gonna have to get another pair of sandals if we’re going out tonight,” I said, inspecting the sodden footwear.

“How’d you guess?”
