When I came back out, the cup of coffee and a sandwich with a packet of mustard was waiting for me on a little table that had been placed beside the chair. There was also a robe so I wouldn’t get the shirt dirty.

The head of the make-up crew, Joyce, also came up to me as I was sitting there chewing the last of my sandwich. I had just one bite left, so I popped it into my mouth.

“Let me check your eye make-up,” she said. “It looks a little smudged on the left.”

So, I was checked, rechecked, redone, and inspected again.

“You know, you have such a natural beauty,” Joyce said. “It isn’t hard to make you look pretty. Some models they send me take three hours just to look passable.”
