Vincent gave Nikoloz a knowing glance and another sly grin as he took a seat. It was all Nikoloz could do to keep from slapping the grin off the man’s face. He sipped his coffee. Perhaps he should see if Dr. Yarborough had any aspirin in the house.
It was Margaret’s turn to wash dishes, thankfully, though she tried her best to get Nikoloz to join her at the task. Instead, he took Dr. Yarborough’s list and retreated to the master bedroom to gather some of the items the doctor wanted to take with him. The suitcases had already been pulled down out of the attic, so all he had to do was locate the requested items and pack them. He could see Vincent and Billy through the bedroom window. Vincent had crouched down level with the boy, and Billy had an expression of intense concentration on his face.
