Chapter 30

“Come on, Cam, Let’s go.”

She looked around for Ritt.

“Ritt, I’m so terribly sorry,” she said.

He nodded. “It will be alright. Don’t worry about it.”

Then she looked around at everyone. “I’m sorry to break up the party,” she told them again. “I guess I need to stay away from crystal.”

Dave directed her out to her car and got her into the passenger seat.

When they got to Maggie’s condo, Cam bolted through the front door and onto the elevator.

Dave got out of the car and waved to Shep. When Shep pulled up beside Cam’s car, he said, “I gotta run in. She ran off without her keys.”

He pulled the car into a parking space, then got out and locked it. He looked through the keys and read the writing on the fob. A newly written tab said 604.

“I hope this is the apartment number.”
