Chapter 40

“Sure.” She pointed toward the hallway that ran off to the side. “First door on the left. I’ll get you a towel.” She smiled.

Cam ambled down the hallway. The door across the hall from the bathroom was open. There was a king-sized bed and maple wood furniture. There was a pile of clothes on the floor and at least six jewelry boxes on the dresser.

She went into the bathroom, set what little was left of her scotch on the sink, and turned the shower on. She adjusted the temperature, shed her clothes, and stepped in. The soap in the soap dish had a lavender smell. The shampoo was from a high-priced salon. She poured some into her hand and started to lather it. She was just rinsing it off when Erika pushed the shower curtain aside.

“Need help?” she asked.
