Chapter 47

Geoff only laughed. “I really don’t think he’s going to last that long, to be honest.”

Larry didn’t know the roommate’s name—Geoff referred to him only as dumbass. With any luck, he wouldn’t be hanging around the room when Larry got there.

Or if he is, maybe he can tell me where Geoff went. Though hopefully their RA taped their names to their door or something. I don’t want to have to be like, “Hey, dumbass,” when he answers.

But Larry had bigger problems—getting into the dormitory itself in the first place. He’d forgotten each building was locked; students who lived there could use their room key to enter, but he could not. There was a callbox outside, and on any other day he’d call Geoff’s room, ask to be buzzed in, but Geoff either wasn’t in or was ignoring him. Would someone let him in if he called them at random? Or if he knocked on the outside door long enough?

Before he could try, someone brushed passed him, key in hand. “Hey, dude. Need to get in?”
