Doug didn’t want to see it that way, though. For him, twenty years might as well be a lifetime away; he was more interested in today than tomorrow, and the band was all he wanted to do now, the future be damned.

But what I want now is Geoff,Larry thought. The warmth of his friend’s leg against his beneath the covers was enough to keep him grounded in the moment, to remind him of what mattered to him, and it had nothing at all to do with the band, or practice, or their next gig. He didn’t want to be forced to choose between his oldest friend and his new boyfriend, but if he had to? If Doug made him pick only one?

Carefully, Larry said, “I guess they sell toothbrushes in the campus bookstore, right?”

Geoff’s smile came back slowly, lighting up his face. “And I’m sure I have a few things you can wear. If you reallyfeel like getting dressed once I finally get you out of your clothes.”
