Chapter 21

The second he moved his lips to return the kiss, the door creaked open and the harsh light from the corridor bathed the center aisle in its burn. A young employee held the door open and surveyed the theater. Garrett discreetly wrestled his hand from Eron’s and shifted away from Eron. After what seemed like forever, the door shut and the two men were left alone again.

Garrett’s chest ached with anxiety over almost getting caught. Did the usher see them kissing or holding hands? If he did, would he call the police?

Garrett loosened his tie and unbuttoned the top button of his shirt. Sweating through his dress shirt was possible.

Eron hadn’t moved since Garrett escaped his hold. Eron kept his position near the shared armrest.

Neither one of them said anything as they left the theater. In the safety of the car, they talked about stupid stuff like the Knicks, the markets, any topic besides what happened in the theater.

Or what might be,Garrett thought.
