“Evan, I’m sorry, but I have my family. No matter how much they drive me fucking crazy, I still love them.”
Evan felt his heart break in two. He stood, pulling away from Morgan’s hand. “And what about me, Morgan? Do I go on and watch you grow old and die?” he asked, turning to face the man who had stolen his heart and now threatened to break it. Love or no, he began to fear what was between them. He had to protect the man, but now he struggled with the notion doing the one thing he knew he shouldn’t do. Above all, he feared he would have to make a choice—between Morgan and Heaven.
Morgan sighed and looked into the fire. “Evan, I love you more than anything in this world, but I don’t want to live forever.”
“You mean you don’t want to live with me.”
