“It’s not like that,” Mark says. “Not at all.”
Not at all.
Relieved, Peter sighs. He could deal with being drunk and losing control of himself long enough to get it on with a guy—with Mark, of all people—but if his friend had liked him, if it’d been more than just the alcohol, Peter wouldn’t be able to deal with that. They wouldn’t be able to stay friends if Mark had feelings for him in any way, feelings Peter didn’t reciprocate. And it’d make things awkward with his brother, too. Mark is Seth’s best friend. How would Seth deal with that?
“Thank God,” Peter breathes.
“Hey!” Mark cries. “I’ll have you know there are guys out there who would’ve given their left ball to hook up with me for one night.”
Despite the tension still running through his body, Peter laughs. “I didn’t mean it like that…”
